You probably already own something that works. Here is how the common options compare, and the one device most people should avoid if they are paying for 4K.

Most people do not need to buy anything. If you have a Firestick, a recent Samsung or LG television, or an Android box, you are already set. But the device does affect picture quality and how much buffering you see, so it is worth knowing where each one stands.

Amazon Firestick
The most popular choice in the UK, and a good one — provided you buy the right model. The 4K Max has the processor and memory to handle high-bitrate streams; the Lite does not, and no provider can fix that.
The one inconvenience is that IPTV players are not in Amazon's store, so you sideload them through the Downloader app. It takes about three minutes and our Firestick tutorial walks through every screen.
Smart TV apps
Samsung and LG both carry IPTV Smarters Pro in their own app stores, so there is no sideloading at all: install, enter your details, done. This is the simplest route by a distance.
The catch is age. A television from 2018 or earlier will feel sluggish, and its app store may no longer receive updates. On a set that old, a £59 Firestick gives a noticeably better experience than the TV itself.
Android TV boxes
The most flexible option — Play Store access, no sideloading, and plenty of player choice. Quality ranges enormously, though. Stick to known names like the Nvidia Shield or a Chromecast with Google TV rather than unbranded boxes.
